With over 40 years in practice, Michael Brown has extensive experience in many areas of law to include Social Security Disability, Personal Injury, Probate, Wills and Estate Planning. Mike is a Dothan native where he was a 1968 graduate of Dothan High School with scholastic and athletic honors. He attended the University of Alabama where he received an Accounting degree in 1972. Following graduation, Mike continued his education at the University of Alabama School of Law where he received the honor of Hugo Black Scholar upon graduation in 1975.
Mike has been licensed to practice law in the state of Alabama since 1975. He served as Assistant District Attorney in Houston and Henry County from 1977 until 1986. After his service in the District Attorney’s office, he continued his public service as a City of Dothan Municipal Judge from 1986 until 2001. He continues serving today as a substitute judge as needed.
Mike has represented thousands of Social Security disability claimants. He understands that many people are discouraged by the intimidating process of obtaining the benefits that they deserve. Mike treats every client with dignity and respect, providing guidance and support throughout the entire claim process.
Mike is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives, Alabama State Bar Association and Houston County Bar Association, where he has served as a past president.
Mike and his wife, Drucie, attend Evergreen Presbyterian Church where he has previously served as an Elder within the church. They have two children, Barrett and Caitlin, who are both licensed attorneys in the state of Alabama.
