With over 11 years in practice, Barrett Brown has extensive experience in many areas of law including Conservatorship and Guardianship, Probate, Wills and Estate Planning. Barrett is a Dothan native where he was a 1998 graduate of Northside Methodist Academy. He attended the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in History and Political Science in 2002. He later attended Birmingham School of Law where upon graduation was admitted by the Alabama State Bar Association to practice law in 2011.
Since 2014, Barrett has served as Houston County’s Conservator. Working directly with Houston County’s Probate Court, Barrett is appointed to manage the affairs of a number of individuals who are significantly disabled by mental illness or developmental disabilities, or elderly individuals who lack the mental state to control their personal affairs. Conservatorships can also be established for minors. In addition to this appointment, Barrett also serves as a Federal Fiduciary for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Barrett is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, Houston County Bar Association, Evergreen Presbyterian Church and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Music South.
